About Peter Shurley
Peter Shurley is one of Australia’s most respected and sought-after Gospel artists, with a career spanning decades of award-winning music and ministry. In 2025, he celebrates the release of his 21st album, Wait, further solidifying his legacy as a gifted singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist.
Based in rural northern Tasmania, Peter shares life and ministry with his wife, Kerrie. They are proud parents of five children and grandparents to two. Despite his deep roots in Tasmania, his influence reaches far beyond, as he maintains an active touring and ministry schedule.
As the owner and producer at Greenroom Recording Studio, Peter is committed to nurturing Christian music, working with a diverse range of artists. His songwriting continues to gain national recognition, with his 2024 song Just One Thing earning the prestigious “Gospel Song of the Year” award at the Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA) Awards—part of Australia’s iconic Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Beyond music, Peter is a dedicated Christian leader, communicator, and church planter. Passionate about equipping and mentoring future leaders, he also remains a strong advocate for global missions. For over 33 years, he has served as an ambassador for Compassion, championing the cause of children living in poverty.
